Grace and Ryan’s Chapel in the Field wedding in Bonifay, Florida is one I don’t think I’ll ever forget! A hurricane came through the night before their October 10th wedding, leaving the venue without power. Not exactly what you expect going into a wedding day!
But if there’s one thing I can say about these two, it’s that they were completely unbothered by everything going on around them. They were just excited to get married, and that made their day so much fun to be a part of.

Chapel in the Field in Bonifay, Florida was the setting for Grace and Ryan’s October wedding, and I absolutely loved the colors they chose.
The bridesmaids wore brown dresses, the groomsmen were in khaki, and Ryan wore a brown suit. They paired everything with white florals, and the combination was so pretty for a fall wedding.
Of course, we had a little bit of unexpected weather to work around. A hurricane had come through the night before, and when wedding day arrived, Chapel in the Field was still without power. Thankfully, the DJ brought a generator, but the venue itself remained without electricity.

If you’ve ever worked with me, you know how much I love a good wedding timeline. I help my couples plan out their photography coverage so we have time for all the photos they want without feeling rushed.
Well, Grace and Ryan’s Chapel in the Field wedding had other plans for us. We pretty much threw our original timeline out the window and just went with whatever worked throughout the day. And honestly, it was completely fine!
Neither Grace nor Ryan seemed stressed about the changes. We adjusted as we went, made sure we had time for the important moments, and still managed to get every single photo they wanted.
I think that’s one of the biggest things this wedding reminded me of. Having a plan is great, but being able to adjust when things don’t go as expected is just as important.

Okay, I HAVE to talk about Grace’s first looks because her excitement was genuinely one of my favorite parts of the entire day.
She was SO giddy! I’m talking literally jumping with excitement before her first looks. You could tell just how happy she was, and I loved getting to capture that.
Those are always some of my favorite moments to photograph. Not because everything is perfectly posed or planned, but because the reactions are real. And Grace’s excitement was definitely real.

Even with all the changes, we still made time for every photo Grace and Ryan wanted.
That’s something that’s really important to me as a wedding photographer. I never want my couples to feel like one unexpected change means they’re going to miss out on photos they’ve been looking forward to. We worked with the day we had, adjusted where we needed to, and captured the moments that mattered to them.
Looking back at their Chapel in the Field wedding gallery, I love that their photos tell the story of how happy they were, rather than how chaotic the circumstances could have been.

Their wedding was full of genuine excitement, beautiful fall colors, and so many sweet moments. And while I definitely wouldn’t wish a hurricane on anyone’s wedding weekend, I loved how these two handled everything that came their way.
